I’ve decided to run for the Mayor of Coalhurst because I’m passionate about continually making our small town a great place to live. I have been privileged to get to know our neighbours through these opportunities and look forward to meeting more of you! I want to learn about what you value and what you would like to see happen in our community. If you’re interested, I would love to meet with you to hear your concerns.
In the five years that I have lived in Coalhurst, I have had the opportunity to get involved in the community in a variety of ways including:
- Chair of the Recreation and Culture Committee.
- President and Director of the Coalhurst Parks and Recreation Society
- President and Director for the Coalhurst Elementary School Council
- Vice-President and Director of the Friends of Coalhurst Elementary School Society
I value communication and transparency and want to see more of this coming out of the Town Council and Town office. I have noticed Coalhurst residents spend a lot of time informing each other on the on-goings within our community. This is great, but there needs to be a greater commitment from the Council to consult with constituents and disseminate accurate information. As mayor of Coalhurst, I will make sure you have timely access to information and your voice is heard before important decisions are made.
While the spray park has been a wonderful addition to our community, we can’t stop there! I am currently leading a recreation and culture needs assessment through the Recreation and Culture Committee. The purpose of this project is to get your input on how we can continue to make Coalhurst a more vibrant community.
As a passionate leader, I look forward to becoming your mayor and chairing a strong council made up of our neighbours who have the town of Coalhurst’s best interest at heart. So, as I said before – I want to know what matters to you! Drop me a line, invite me over for a chat or attend an upcoming meet and greet.
